1. 프로젝트 소개

본 프로젝트의 이름은 ‘수화인플레이어’로 사용자가 정보를 얻고자 하는 영상을 등록하면 영상의 내용을 수화로 번역하여 이를 등록된 영상과 함께 사용자에게 제공하는 것이 목표이다.

현재 시중에 나와있는 대부분의 영상매체는 자막이 함께 제공되는 영상이 적을 뿐더러 더욱이 수화 영상을 함께 제공하는 것은 뉴스나 일부 수화통역 영상 이외에 거의 찾아볼 수 없다. IT 기술 발달로 점점 영상 매체의 의존도가 높아짐에 따라 청인과 청각장애인 간의 정보 격차는 심화될 것으로 예상된다. 하여 본 프로젝트의 기대효과는 청각장애인도 인터넷 강의나 시사/교양 프로그램 등 정보를 담고 있는 영상에서 원하는 정보를 제약없이 습득할 수 있도록 하는 것이다.

2. Abstract

Most of the video media currently on the market have fewer videos that come with subtitles and, moreover, provide Sign Language together can hardly be found other than news or some sign language translation videos. As IT technology advances increasingly rely on video media, the information gap between the audience and the deaf is expected to widen. Thus, the expected effect of this project is to enable deaf people to acquire the information they want in a video containing information, such as Internet lectures and current events/cultivation programs.
